There’s a lot to be said for sticking with a forestry processor you know inside out.
You know what it will handle, You know what needs watched and more often than not, you know how to get it going again when something isn’t quite right.
So changing machine and particularly changing to something unfamiliar – isn’t a decision most operators make just because something newer has come along. The work changes too. Timber sizes change. Contracts change. The type of jobs coming your way changes and eventually there can come a point where keeping the machine you know, starts to mean working around its limitations.
That’s when it may be worth looking at what a modern tractor processor can give you. Take the HYPRO 300. It keeps the compact, straightforward tractor-processor concept that makes sense for thinning work, but brings considerably more capability into that familiar way of working. It handles timber from 3cm up to 30cm diameter, feeds at around 3 metres per second and incorporates a 35 metre radio-controlled winch with 1.5 tonnes of pulling force. HYPRO doesn’t stop at one type of processor. Where the work calls for greater diameter capacity and more versatility, the HYPRO 450XL handles timber up to 45cm diameter and combines a high-speed feed of over 5 m/sec with a slower, higher-torque setting for heavier timber. If your existing setup is still doing exactly what you need, that’s important. HYPRO 300 - A practical step up from manual processing
1. Lightweight & Compact
At around 800kg and requiring a minimum tractor output of just 50 hp, the HYPRO 300 gives contractors a practical route into mechanical timber processing without needing a large dedicated base machine.
2. Processes up to 30cm
Designed specifically for thinning work, the HYPRO 300 can process timber from approximately 3cm up to 30cm in diameter, making it well suited to smaller and medium-sized timber.
3. 1.5 Tonne Hydraulic Winch
A built-in 1.5-tonne hydraulic winch with 35m of rope helps bring timber into the processor. Winch in/out can be operated by radio control, reducing the amount of manual handling required around the machine.
4. Three-Wheel Power Feed
The HYPRO 300 uses three feeder wheels to provide high feeding power for a machine of its size, with a feed speed of around 3m per second for efficient processing.
5. Low Running Costs
Its own hydraulic system allows the tractor to operate at a lower engine speed, helping to reduce diesel use.
HYPRO 450XL – When you need more from your processor
1. Processes timber up to 45 cm
The HYPRO 450XL has a maximum opening diameter of 45 cm, with full delimbing capacity from 5cm up to 40cm, giving it a much broader working range across thinning and lighter final felling.
2. High & low-speed feeding
The machine has both high- and low-speed feed settings. High speed delivers over 5 m/sec for smaller timber, while the lower-speed setting runs at over 3.5 m/sec with higher starting torque for heavier timber.
3. 2-tonne hydraulic winch
A powerful hydraulically driven winch gives 2 tonnes of pulling force and 50 metres of rope, with radio control as standard.
4. Double-articulated working position
The standard double-jointed frame allows the processor to work offset from the tractor, helping keep processed timber away from the wheel tracks and making it easier to sort different assortments into separate piles as you work.
5. Length & diameter measurement
The 450XL comes with the MD430-D measuring computer, providing length and diameter measurement, log-data recording and programmable timber assortment settings.
HYPRO 755HB - More reach and capacity for demanding work
1. Processes timber up to 50 cm
Handles timber from 3cm up to 50cm in diameter, with delimbing capacity up to 40cm.
2. 7.5 metre crane reach
The integrated crane gives 7.5 metres of reach with 360° crane rotation, allowing timber to be brought directly into the processor.
3. 2-tonne radio-controlled winch
A 2-tonne hydraulic winch with 50 metres of rope provides another option for bringing timber into the machine where crane access is less practical.
4. Wheel-carried with articulated steering
The wheel-carried design, combined with +/-25° articulated steering, helps the 755HB follow the tractor and manoeuvre through woodland more easily.
5. Low drawbar load on the tractor
Despite its size, the 755HB typically places only around 200kg on the tractor drawbar, helping make it suitable for lighter tractors from around 70 hp.
